Do you know someone fighting in Iraq right now?
Legless Iraqi Boy

Are you concerned about the lives of soldiers and Iraqi citizens in the current war? While it is true that Iraqis die daily from insurgencies and American soldiers, landmine's present a danger just as serious. Since the Gulf War in 1991, Iraq has been littered with landmine's and unexploded ordnances. The US used 117,634 landmine's in Iraq and Kuwait during the 1991 Gulf War. Of these, 27,967 were antipersonnel mines. During the Gulf War, landmine's were identified as the cause of 81 US casualties. Iraq is currently NOT a state party and has not publicly addressed the issue of landmine's since 1997.

FACT: The recorded number of casualties since 1993: 8,037.
